An absolutely ridiculous premise, with ridiculous execution and ridiculously bad special effects. In other words, exactly what I would want and expect from an Asylum movie that premiered on SyFy.
Simple as it gets, a 3-Headed shark attacks an underwater research facility and a booze cruise, chomping down on everyone that moves. It turns out that pollution not only created the titular beast, but it is attracted to pollution as well. Anyway, you end up having WWE and ECW wrestling legend Rob Van Dam and Machete himself, Danny Trejo, teaming with the bikini clad “research scientists” to try to destroy the shark.
Chris Olen Ray understood the assignment and made the most of what was obviously a tiny budget to make a fun B movie. I don’t watch Chinatown to see Rob Van Dam, Danny Trejo, and assorted bikini babes fight 3-Headed sharks and I don’t watch 3-Headed Shark Attack to see an intricately scripted and deep mystery about the California water wars, so turn your brain off and just enjoy the film for the gloriously ludicrous and entertaining cheese fest that it is.
